Every child deserves the best possible start in life, and that’s why at Burnside Advanced Early Learning Centre, we give them just that. Conveniently located near Norwood, our childcare centre offers a calm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.
We understand that starting childcare is a significant milestone—not just for children but also for families. That’s why we focus on building strong partnerships with families and creating meaningful early learning experiences that lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
Burnside AELC has been thoughtfully designed with your child’s development, wellbeing and comfort in mind. Families across Norwood, Burnside, and surrounding suburbs choose us because we offer:
We’re more than just a childcare centre in Adelaide—we’re a community where children feel a strong sense of belonging.
Our programs are tailored to support children through each stage of development, from infancy through to school readiness.
We offer:
A calm, nurturing space where infants feel safe and secure
Designed to support growing independence and curiosity
Focused on school readiness, early literacy, numeracy and social development
Our educators use intentional teaching and play-based learning to guide children’s development while encouraging them to explore, question, and discover.
We also offer enriching extras like music, physical education, cultural learning experiences, and language development, helping children build confidence and a strong sense of identity.
Each child is unique, and so is their learning journey. Our programmes are carefully structured to provide age-appropriate early learning that supports children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
We create experiences that:
By understanding each child’s individual needs, interests and learning style, we help them thrive at every stage of their early years.
From the moment children arrive, they’re welcomed with warmth and encouragement. A typical day at our childcare Burnside centre includes:
Every moment of the day is an opportunity for learning—whether it’s building a tower, watering the garden, or sharing a story with a friend.
We also work closely with families to maintain routines and ensure children feel safe and supported throughout the day.
Start by talking positively about childcare and what to expect. Visiting the centre together, meeting the educators, and gradually introducing your child to the environment can help ease the transition. At Burnside AELC, we also offer orientation sessions to help families and children feel more comfortable before their first day.
We recommend packing a clearly labelled bag with:
A water bottle
We provide nutritious meals, so there’s no need to pack food unless your child has specific dietary requirements.
Yes. We understand how important it is to stay connected. Through our secure parent application, you'll get daily insights, including photos, about your child's routines, activities, and learning. Our educators are also available for regular check-ins and open communication.
If your child becomes unwell during the day, we’ll contact you immediately. Our team is trained in first aid and illness management, and we follow strict health and hygiene protocols to ensure the safety of all children in our care. To help keep our community healthy, we kindly ask that sick children stay at home until they are well enough to return.
Choosing the right childcare centre is a big decision, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. With experienced educators, thoughtful programs and a strong commitment to quality care, Burnside AELC is proud to be a trusted choice for families in Norwood, Burnside and nearby suburbs.
We invite you to book a tour and experience the Burnside AELC difference for yourself. We look forward to welcoming your family into ours.
